I purchased a CISS system from CIE after running a poster business on Etsy for a couple of years. I had used genuine ink for some time but was finding it cripplingly expensive and I was constantly running out of ink. After some research I decided to grab myself a dye ink CISS and have loved it ever since.
The ink lasts significantly longer and is priced very competitively. The ink also appears to be high quality with no discolouration.
I had some initial teething issues with getting my printer set up to print close to what my computer was showing (colour wise) but it was a simple case of getting a custom ICC profile from CIE which solved my issue.
Would definitely recommend this product to anyone printing high volume regularly.
I bought a full set of 125ml Lyson inks along with cartridges and separate syringes to fill them last year. Filling the cartridges is simple, but it’s advisable to do it over plenty of newspaper just in case of any spills. It’s easy to get ink on your fingers, but it does no harm and disappears after a couple of days.
I ordered an extra bottle of black ink, as you do tend to use more black than any of the other colours. Next time I’ll have to order just one set, with the black ink having being expended by around 50% more than the other colours.
There was a problem with one of the black cartridges supplied that didn’t work. As I had a second black cartridge, I was up and running after swapping over, but CityInkExpress' response to my support query was immediate and they sent me a fresh cartridge to replace the faulty one.
The inks are indistinguishable to my eye from original Epson ink, and it’s certainly far more cost effective to refill cartridges in this way.
The only problem I’ve encountered is when refilling a cartridge, the printer sometimes won’t start up correctly. The only way I’ve found to fix this is to power up the printer with one of the cartridges unseated so that the printer thinks that it’s not installed. Pushing the cartridge down and going through the printer startup cycle again seems to clear the error.
All in all, top quality ink and brilliant support from CityInkExpress.
I thought for a very long time about buying a CISS system and then after seeing my parents one in action I decided to bite the bullet of the initial expense and go for it for my Epson printer. After owning the CISS for over 4 years I have to say it was the best thing I ever did!
The huge amount of money I have saved over the years must total a staggering amount and I haven't had to replace cartridges all the time as it holds so much ink and it was so easy to set up.
I have just replaced my 8 year old Epson printer with a newer Epson model (as my old one was starting to fail on the paper feed) and of course the first thing I have done is head straight over to City Ink Express to see what CISS and refillable cartridge systems are available for it.
It's such a shame that my old 4 ink feed CISS system isn't compatible with my new 5 ink printer, but I've certainly had my moneys worth out of it.
Thanks again CityInkExpress for the huge amount of money I will save over the next few years!!
I’ve been using now the CISS for my Canon printer for 4 months. I’m very satisfied using this system.
The installation instructions are explained simply and clearly. And thanks to the instructional videos, installation is a piece of cake.
The quality of the ink is as good as the genuine Canon ink. There’s only a slight colour deviation. So recalibration of the printer may be needed.
Quick delivery of the goods. The right price for excellent quality.
I bought the CityInkExpress CIS system a while ago for my Epson printer and it has been invaluable.
I love to see the Epson software hassling me to buy more ink then just resetting and continuing printing (I have the older setup, I understand that the newer ones even reset themselves so even less to do!) I don't print a great deal but it's lasted for three years!
Once it's set up there is nothing else to do, apart from keeping an eye on the ink level in the tanks, which do down very slowly.
It's well worth the initial outlay and has saved me a small fortune and should continue to do so.
I always use CityInkExpress for my ink refills and CIS systems and I am saving a fortune on ink cartridges.
The quality is perfect and I could not be happier. The inks never dry up or cartridges never block.
I only buy printers now that CityInkExpress do the replacement inks and cartridges for.
We are proud to announce May's competition winner is Andy, who won a full set of Canon ink.
Here is a picture of Andy with his prize in action.
Your CISS is absolutely amazing!!
I purchased your CISS and ink solution for my HP Officejet 5740 and couldn’t be happier!!
It was easy to install, I was up and printing within minutes of watching your video on YouTube.
With 2 children, I was spending hundreds of dollars a year on HP ink at Staples knowing we were getting ripped off, no more!!!
I recommend this product to everyone!!!
Having bought the printer and hardly used it because of the extortionate cost of cartridges I decided to give a CISS a try.
Easy enough to install - no issues except a bit of air in the lines but that was my fault.
Results thus far - one perfect A4 colour photo - wow. I have a printer I can use without taking out a mortgage ! Very happy with the product and would not hesitate to recommend.
Oh, by the way - I opted for 24/48 hr delivery - the order was placed in the evening - CityInkExpress despatched the following day on Parcelforce 24hr Express which probably cost them more than I had paid for. I was impressed with that !
I was sceptical about using non manufacturing inks to produce a good photo quality print from my Canon IP8750 printer, but with the extortionate cost to replace the tiny 15ml cartridges supplied by Canon made me give the ink refills from CityInkExpress a try as I would be printing larger size A3 posters.
The instructions and set up were very easy and I printed off an A4 painting on the IP8750 and the print quality was identical with the CityInkExpress refill ink to the same painting I had printed off earlier with the original Canon cartridges.
I was really shocked at the superb quality of the ink refills.
