Sublimation ICC profiles are created by scanning the media after sublimation for more accurate colours

Why would you create and ICC profile from an item sublimated on ceramics then use that profile when pressing on a different media type ?

A wider range of tones and closer match to the original colours is achieved by using an ICC profile created around the media type you are pressing  - custom icc profiles are better if you are trying to colour match a specific design.

ask yourself these questions

1:  If you have an icc profile what was it created from ?

2: Are you using it on the same or similar media type ?

3: Are you getting the best results you can from your current setup and supplies ?

Here are some examples of some images that have been sublimated onto products and then scanned into an image file

The source ICC profile was made on ceramic then we used this profile on other media types and then compared to an icc profile made around the specific media type.

The images do show what we expected - but please bear in mind these are sublimated scanned images - looks much better sitting here looking at the physical products.

TEST 1

For our colour test charts on this one we are using a using an icc profile created from ceramic media on an aluminium sheet

On this one we are using a using a ceramic icc on a metal item and the most noticeable differences on this image are in the deeper blacks / shades with subtle differences in the colours some more than others overall blues and blacks appear to be the most affected colours when not utilising an icc made on the media type.

TEST 2

For our colour test charts on this one we are using a using an icc profile created from ceramic media on a Polyester sheet

On this one we are using a using a ceramic icc on a polyester item and the most noticeable differences on this image are in the blacks / shades ( in person the polyester one is more true )  with subtle differences in the colours some more than others overall blues and blacks appear to be the most affected colours when not utilising an icc made on the media type.

TEST 3

For our colour test charts on this one we are using a using an icc profile created from ceramic media on a cork / mdf item

On this one we are using a using a ceramic icc on a cork /mdf item and the most noticeable differences on this image are in the blue shades

All tests showed darker blues and black when utilising a profile from a different media type but that's not what we are trying to achieve - we are trying to colour match - if we wanted darker blues and blacks we could of just changed our original image

We are now please to be fully suporting Big sur for sublimation printing , with no colour management issues and colours comparable to all previous versions on a mac

Continuous Ink Supply system

My last Epson printer had a Continuous ink supply system fitted and worked extremely well over the years I had it.

Unfortunately my printer went wrong so after looking at the City Ink Express site and finding that a CISS was available for an Epson XP-3105 I then bought the printer. Straight away I went to the City ink express site to purchase the Continuous ink supply system quoted for the printer.

Ordering was extremely simple and exactly as was promised, my CISS package arrived after 3 working days.

Watching the videos on how to fit the system to my printer made the installation very simple and within half hour (as mentioned) my printer was up an running. I printed out a document on plain paper and the resolution and colour was fantastic. I then tried it on a picture I had taken, once again the colour and resolution was perfect, it looked as good as I used to get when getting prints processed from a photographers.

I really am impressed with this item, which I am sure will be as good as my previous CISS, will save me an awful lot of money not having to change inks at about £16.00 for each colour. Order one now, you will not be disappointed

Kind Regards

Graham

Here’s my review of Cityinkexpress products and services: Being a long term customer of Cityinkexpress ( probably 5 years and already for the third ink-printer ) I can tell, that quality of ink is extraordinarily good. Colors are in excellent balance, print-heads don't get clogged, there are no leaks and smears. I use Cityinkexpress inks for both fine photo prints (I am a photography enthusiast and semi-professional) and daily business printing. Currently I use the Canon Pixma iP7250 printer with a CISS ( Continuous Ink supply system ) supplied by Cityinkexpress and it works great. The service by Cityinkexpress is fast and focused. Packing of goods is good, but Cityinkexpress might consider improving it a little to adding extra measures when shipping ink bottles to eliminate any probability of damage. Overall AAA+++ rating Thank you for your good service

I waited a while to write this review as i wanted to see how the ink was with my printer (epson XP900) Delivery was pretty quick, i was a little worried about the whole set up process as im not the best at technical things but i followed the youtube video guide for my particular printer and it was a breeze tbh. I honestly cant fault the whole process of ordering, delivery and setup of the inks to my printer. The inks themselves i cant fault either and they have lasted me months so far. I recomend this company and ink setup to everyone i know! It has saved me so much money in ink replacement. Craig

We've been using your CISS systems for years and this is a genuine review but of course I've taken the trouble to write it mainly to get a discount.

This is the second CISS system we’ve bought from City Ink Express. That might sound odd but the first one we bought was so good that the Epson printer it fitted simply wore out and as they’d stopped making that model  we were forced to replace the printer even though the CISS system was still perfect after years of use. That first system saved us thousands and thousands of pounds in ink cartridge costs and hundreds of hours faffing about replacing them.

Kind regards

Rory

If your printer was not purchased in the uk / Europe then it will use different cartridges for the ciss - for it to work in your country you will need chipless firmware - read on

What is chippless firmware?

Chippless firmware is a modified version of the software installed inside your printer that has been modified so it no longer monitors the chips or ink levels, this is uploaded to your printer and overwrites the current version of the software.

The benefits of chippless software are it gives the user the ability to put cartridges in the printer with no chips or the wrong chips , an example of use would be if you have intermittent issues with chips doing this would solve that as it no longer checks for chips.

An alternative scenario would be where you get the same printer in different countries but the chip / cartridges are different so you cannot buy a product from one country and put it in the same printer in a different country because the cartridges and chips are different andwould not be recognised.

Making the printer chippless would as an example allow the user to buy a ciss or refillable cartridges for the XP-4100 in the UK and install them in the US version of the same printer.

Using a chippless firmware will void your warranty

Its as easy as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxljgwByvBk

Once uploaded you should not update your firmware from Epson, or it will overwrite the modified version and go back to how it was before with normal unmodified firmware, ink levels will no longer be monitored so manual checking will be required of the product you are using.

If done in error, it can be recovered if you have saved your recovery code the software offers at time of modification.

Chipless firmware is offered here https://inkchip.net/

We are often asked by why we do not offer detailed technical support by phone - so here are our reasons.

We cannot see what you can

Many of our products require detailed technical support which often requires images and screen shots of the product setup, settings, images - without these we cannot see and understand the whole picture and offer an effective prompt solution

Sometimes with the settings you have - you might think they are right but may not be - we need to see images to find this out - it only takes 1 wrong thing to stop the product working  building up a complete picture of support helps us.

We do not record conversations and each time you ring you may get a different staff member who has no idea who you are or any previous history this may result in wrong advice being given.

Building up a complete picture of support over time helps understand and troubleshoot to give the best advice as we can see what has been done and tried before.

Building up a complete picture of support by email means any member of staff can read all the history and support you.

Building up a complete picture of support helps us improve the quality of the products and level of service we provide.

We have now released the ciss continuous ink system for Epson XP-8500,XP-8505,XP-8000,XP-8600,XP-8605 Printer and the video can be found here

After extensive and in depth testing on this model which included over 25,000 prints, over 4 litres of ink we are happy to release what we believe in our opinion to be a comparable model to the Sawgrass SG400 printer but with just a fraction of the ongoing running cost

Huge savings on your running costs when compared to an SG400 which is typically around £1.20per ml of ink and the cityinkexpress brand around 18 pence
